Darcy Edmonds

Memorial Tournament

September 9 – 11, 2005

Gloucester, Massachusetts

 

This tournament is being held in memory of our Storm teammate,  Darcy Edmonds.   Darcy, the 29-year-old goaltender of our team, was killed in a one-car accident near her home in Connecticut on June 4, 2001.

 

In addition to being a respected and spirited member of the Storm Women’s Ice Hockey Team, Darcy, deaf since the age of 9, worked for the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, Connecticut helping other hearing-impaired people learn to live on their own.

 

Darcy was scheduled to begin coaching ice hockey in the fall of 2001 at Holy Cross College as part of a program for deaf and hard of hearing children called "DEAFinitely Hockey for the Deaf". With the help of her partner, Wendy Krayeski, a Memorial Fund has been set up at Holy Cross in Darcy's name. You can learn more about this unique program on their web site:

Monies collected during this memorial tournament

will be sent to the fund set up in Darcy’s name.
